Bull City Summer

On the 25th anniversary of iconic baseball film Bull Durham, Bull City Summer aims to put together a team of writers and photographers to document the 2013 season at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, capturing the obsessive craft of baseball just one step from the major leagues, along with the cross-section of stories unfolding around the game – fans, promotions, groundskeeping, umpires, concession staffs, parking, and the revitalized Durham downtown the Bulls call home.

Participating artists include Alex Harris, Frank Hunter, Kate Joyce, Adam Sobsey, Leah Sobsey, Alec Soth, Hank Willis Thomas, and Hiroshi Watanabe. Participating organizations include the Durham Bulls Baseball Club and their parent company, Capitol Broadcasting; Daylight Publishing; and the North Carolina Museum of Art. Lead sponsor is Triangle Orthopaedic Associates.
