Holly Springs is evolving, in fits and starts. On some days, the Mississippi town seems just as likely to revert to its segregated past, yet on others, Holly Springs is surprisingly forward thinking. A dozen local residents—activists, veterans, historians, entrepreneurs, politicians, environmentalists, and musicians—share drastically different perspectives of their small community. Their stories are intertwined with the wisdom and humor of the octogenarian record store owner David “Fox” Caldwell, who calls for everyone to learn to live with one another.
