Launched in 2014, Audio Under the Stars is a summer-long outdoor audio festival that takes place in Durham, North Carolina. Audio Under the Stars is a unique, immersive, and shared experience that brings diverse individuals together for an evening of documentary storytelling in a charming, garden-party atmosphere. Stories both reflect the lives of the audience and take them to places they could never imagine. The richness of the stories creates captivating, magical moments: listeners often laugh along together or clap at moments of triumph.
With a strong emphasis on southern storytelling, Audio Under the Stars shares stories from our local and regional communities, both through relationships with audiences and producers, and through partnerships with the Center for Documentary Studies and the Museum of Durham History, among others.
