BRINGING IT HOME is a feature length documentary film in production that follows Asheville, NC home designer Anthony Brenner's dream of building, The Bird's Nest, a toxin-free group home constructed with hempcrete for his daughter Bailey and other children with similar chemical sensitivities and disabilities. Hempcrete is made with industrial hemp, a carbon absorbing crop grown in 30 other industrialized nations that offers toxin-free and sustainable alternatives for global deforestation, malnutrition, climate change, petrochemical plastics, fossil fuels, synthetic-based products and more, but is not legal to grow in the U.S.
BRINGING IT HOME features industrial hemp business leaders and farmers in America, Europe, Canada and South Africa, interviews with opponents to legalizing industrial hemp farming in the U.S. and advocates like Hemp Industries Association's Director Eric Steenstra and Gale Glenn, a grandmother and former tobacco farmer, who is convinced industrial hemp could help farmers and create jobs here in the south and across America.
