The Final Gift documents one woman’s quest to find life and meaning after the 2003 slaying of her brother. This meaning, ultimately, lies in the life of the killer who is imprisoned in South Carolina. Her grief and anger and that of the family members are tempered with voices of forgiveness and redemption. Interviews with professionals in the criminal justice field offer insights to the true cost of crime to society and to individuals – both victim and offender. The goal of this feature length documentary is to show all sides of this violent crime and its effects on the family members of both the victim and the killer.
