PRINT IS DEAD

Print is Dead is a documentary feature which charts the print book publishing industry from its invention, through its present-day struggles, and to what the future might hold for print media. Through archival footage and new interviews, Print is Dead explores the repercussions for the death of print – from mass layoffs, lack of diversity, and the homogeny of the current publishing market. The death of print could mean the loss of a permanent medium in which to document our history, culture, and experiences, as digital media is not a lasting artifact like books are. To prevent the death of print, we must embrace new ideas and diversity within the industry to help it remain relevant and succeed.
