In rural South Carolina sits an advanced research facility. Behind these walls, engineers recreate hail, hurricane force winds, and simulate wildfires to understand how humans can adapt to the climate crisis. Adaptation provides a powerful testament to humanity’s ability to confront a changing world.

Behind the walls of an advanced research facility in rural South Carolina, scientists and engineers simulate extreme weather events to better understand how humans can adapt to the climate crisis. In building full scale model homes only to have them torn down by hurricane force winds or ignited by simulated wildfire, these experiments provide powerful testament to humanity’s ability to confront a changing world. In tandem, their world-class team deploys into the field to track real-world storms and fires, allowing them to refine their models and develop more effective strategies for mitigating the impact of these catastrophic events. Presented as an visually and sonically rich experience, Adaptation provides a glimpse into groundbreaking research that has generational implications.
