“Nuevo South Magazine: Duramitas” is the first multimedia-platform project documenting the living history of the Latino community in Durham, North Carolina, since the start of the Great Latino Migration to the American South. “Duramitas”, is conceived as a multimedia storytelling platform consisting of a four-part magazine edition (published by Nuevo South Magazine) and a traveling public art installation exhibit. “Durmitas” builds on the two decades of work of visual storyteller and community documentarian Rodrigo Dorfman, notably his two exhibits: Nuevolution! and “New Spirit of Durham”.
